Update 8-23-2007
Hope to see lots of you at 10 am - 12:30 pm this Saturday, August 25, on Cerrito Creek at the foot of Albany Hill. We have lots to do to get ready for fall planting of natives. Afterwards, we'll enjoy great summer melons, and for those interested I'll lead a short nature walk to appreciate this important ecological island in an urban sea. All ages welcome - there's a play structure in the park, and the creek is fun to splash in.
Meet at El Cerrito's Creekside Park, south end of Santa Clara Street, just north of Albany Hill. To get there, from Central Avenue between San Pablo and I-880 turn south on Santa Clara, toward Albany Hill. The short street ends at the park. By bus, take AC Transit 72 to San Pablo and Carlson (at El Cerrito Plaza) and walk west 1/2 block on Carlson. At Tulip Flooring, jog south (left) on the Adams Street stub and then follow the creekside walkway west (right) to the park. It's also a short walk from El Cerrito Plaza BART.
