Apologies, I missed the real oil-spill announcement:
Apologies, one more message today -- I promise this is the last.
If you can volunteer, it would be helpful to station yourself at one of the following places, to explain NICELY to people why it is better if they use another trail (there are signs to back you up):
Although the request did not mention it, the same help might be useful at the Bayview access, at the end of 51st between Stege and Hoffman marshes. Use your own judgment.

Volunteers can learn to clean beaches today at 1 pm at HsLordships Restaurant, S. end of Seawall Drive, and 8 am Saturday at the West Berkeley Senior Center, 1900 Sixth St. Info at 510 981 6720 or www.cityofberkeley.info.
The City of Richmond is trying to keep folks off its popular waterfront trails so that bird rescue can go on -- people and dogs scare the birds off and make rescue harder. Please take your walk, skate, or bike ride somewhere else (this goes for the entire waterfront).
Vincent Park, end of Marina Bay Parkway
Shimada Park, trailheads at either end, on Marina Bay Park Parkway
Junction of Meeker Slough Trail and Bay Trail (access through Meeker Slough Trail off Marina Bay Parkway and Regatta)
